Broadband LTE FAQ’s

What is RAIN LTEA?

LTEA stands for LTEAdvanced and is more reliable and delivers true 4G speeds. LTEA is 2–3x faster than regular LTE.

Broadband LTE Wireless Internet is supplied by the RAIN Network and is a best effort service with no minimum service levels offered. Speeds within specified coverage areas displayed on the Home-Connect Management Portal coverage maps generally range between 10Mbps and 50Mbps. Many factors determine the speed and quality of the LTE service which will be achieved such as but not limited to, distance, weather, interference around and within the property.

What speeds can I expect?

You can generally expect speeds between 10–50Mbps. Please note, however, that speeds are determined by the external environment around your home and where the router is situated in your home.

Can I use this LTEA Service anywhere?

Yes, provided you are within the Rain Network coverage area.

How does the Double Data Promotion work?

The Double Data Promotion gives you FREE Double Anytime Data on top of the normal monthly data allocation until 30 November 2018.

All new signups done between 01 August 2017 and 30 November 2017 qualify for this promotion.

Existing clients who signed up before 01 August 2017 will also qualify for the Double Data Promotion and will receive double data starting from 01 August 2017 until 30 November 2018.

How do I sign up?

Step 1: Please register to our Home-Connect portal.

Step 2: Click on Sign In icon on the top of our website and register to our Home-Connect Portal.

Step 3: After you have successfully registered, please use your logins to login and check coverage on your area. You will be able to view packages LTE wireless packages available in your area.

Step 4: Select the package speeds that you would like to order and continue with the purchase process.

Sign-up in the middle of the month?

No need to wait until the new month as all packages will be billed on a pro-rata basis from 48 hrs after delivery of the SIM card.

Do I need to sign a contract?

No, our contracts are month-to-month, with a 1 calendar month notice.

How does payment work?

Payment method will be via Debit Order.

Does top up data expire?

Data Bundle Top-ups will expire on the last day of the current month.

For example, if you purchase a Top-up Bundle on the 25th of July, the Bundle will expire on the 31st of August at 23:59.

Any unused Top-up Bundle will be forfeited at 23:59 on the expiry date. Top-up Data will always be depleted first, before your monthly data allocation.

Upgrade / Downgrade?

All upgrades and downgrades submitted before the 24th of the month will be actioned on the 1st of the following month.
